Ways to Give

There are several different methods of making a contribution to St. Joseph Parish and Schools. Each method provides you, the donor, with attractive tax benefits and is suited to varying financial situations. The following may be helpful as you consider the best way to make your gift. We would be pleased to provide you with more information and assist you in making your gift. Please contact the Rectory at 781-444-0245.

Gifts of Cash

The easiest and most direct way to support Saint Joseph Parish and Schools is to make your gift by cash, check, or direct deposit. Pledges with scheduled payments over several months allow you to increase the amount of support to Saint Joseph Parish and Schools.

Gifts of Stock

It is sometimes tax-beneficial to contribute appreciated stock rather than cash because a gift of appreciated stock can offer a two-fold tax saving. The donor not only receives a charitable gift tax deduction for the fair market value of the security, but also avoids potential capital gains tax on the appreciated value. The transfer can be initiated by your broker and accomplished through an electronic transfer. Contact the Rectory for more information.

Matching Gifts by Your Employer

Your gift can be increased if you or your spouse's employer matches charitable donations. Both parish schools are eligible educational institutions under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Please contact your company representative to determine if your company offers matching gifts and how to initiate one.

Bequests

A common form of planned gift is a bequest provision in a Will. A gift by Will is one of the easiest and most effective means of ensuring that your family members are fully provided for by your estate while being able to support the mission of Saint Joseph Parish and Schools. You can stipulate that the Parish receive a specified amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after all other bequests are fulfilled. For more information on planning these gifts contact your attorney or financial advisor.

Life Income Gifts

Life Income Gifts may be a good solution for donors who prefer to make gifts of cash, securities or real estate, but wish to retain income for life. These include: Charitable Remainder Unitrusts, Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Living Trusts and Pooled Income Funds.

Volunteer your time and talent

The gift of your time to St. Joseph Parish or Schools is greatly appreciated. You can help with church ministries, the Religious Education program, and various school needs in the classrooms, lunch room, or playground.  You can make a difference.
